This is the completed installation at Art Chicago, Navy Pier, Chicago, in May 2003. It is made of spices -- paprika, turmeric, poppyseeds and more -- placed loosely on a mat. The fringe is made of cotton cord, with "popper" firecrackers attached.

The title comes from the listing of an actual Afghan War Rug that was for sale on Ebay. The project is inspired by Tibetan sand mandalas.
